Emberfall Chronicles
★★★★★ 4.6
Emberfall Chronicles surprised us. It looks like a standard gacha-flavored RPG at first glance, but the writing is genuinely good and the turn-based fights ask you to think about positioning more than most mobile RPGs bother to.
You build a party of four, each with a clear role, and combat rewards combos between elemental skills. We found the early chapters a little slow, but once the second region opens up the difficulty tightens and team composition starts to matter a lot.
Battery drain is real during longer sessions, so keep that in mind. Otherwise it's one of the more complete handheld RPG experiences we've played this year.
What we liked
- Strong story writing
- Tactical turn-based combat
- Deep party-building options
