The first is the lighthouse symbol puzzle. The answer isn't in that room — it's painted on a wall two screens back. The game expects you to backtrack with the lantern raised, which reveals markings you'd otherwise miss.

The second is the tidal cave. Timing matters here: wait for the water to recede before crossing, and watch the lantern flame, which dims near hidden passages. We ran past the right path four times before noticing that detail.
